Therese Debono
Therese Debono is a Maltese photographer, researcher, and lecturer whose work explores memory, absence, place, and the traces left behind by human activity. Her photography often focuses on spaces in transition, revealing quiet narratives through architecture, objects, light, and detail. In this power station series, Debono documents industrial interiors, machinery, signs, devotional images, and worn surfaces as evidence of a place shaped by labour, time, and memory. Rather than presenting the site as empty, she uncovers the human presence that still lingers within it, creating images that are reflective, restrained, and deeply atmospheric.
